APGA, jointly with AGA, INGAA, and API, submitted a final set of comments related to the Safety of Gas Transmission & Gathering Lines Rulemaking. As a reminder, PHMSA has broken this rulemaking into three separate rules: (1) requirements associated with Congressional mandates, (2) the balance of the proposed requirements related to gas transmission pipelines and (3) requirements for gas gathering lines. The comments submitted yesterday pertained to the second rulemaking, which is titled: Safety of Gas Transmission Pipelines: Repair Criteria, Integrity Management Improvements, Cathodic Protection, Management of Change, and Other Related Amendments Final Rule. The comments attempted to assist PHMSA in ensuring that the final regulatory code languages matches that which was voted on during the Gas Pipeline Advisory Committee meetings.
