Simon Cook, Manager, Programs & Services

Simon CookSimon joined the American Public Gas Association in March of 2015.

Prior to joining APGA, he was a Legislative Correspondent for Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. In this capacity, he conducted policy research and tracked legislation for senior level committee staff, and drafted letters of response to constituents on a wide range of issues tied to the agricultural, environmental, and energy industries.

Before his two-year stint with the Senate Agriculture Committee, Simon completed an internship with Ducks Unlimited’s Governmental Affairs Office, as well as an internship on the Hill. While in college, he spent a summer semester in France and Belgium where he studied the European Union, globalization and social change in Europe. He enjoys travelling and has been to nine countries spanning three continents. In addition to his passion for travel, he is an avid golfer and outdoorsman.

Simon is originally from Holland, Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Michigan State University in East Lansing. He currently lives in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, DC.
