APGA's most important work is performed through committees, subcommittees, and task-forces comprised of volunteer APGA members.  Committees plan and oversee APGA's government relations work and other activities that affect education, membership, marketing, and safety.

Join A Committee

Oversee the selection of APGA Award recipients.

Plan and ensure the success of the APGA Annual Conference.

APGA's Codes & Standards Committee advances the Board-identified codes and standards advocacy priorities, with guidance from the Association’s Policy Resolutions. The Committee communicates and advocates these positions in the relevant codes and standards forums and ensures, when appropriate, coordination with other APGA groups.

APGA's Communications & Marketing Committee oversees outgoing and internal communication for the association. Responsibilities for the committee include content creation for APGA’s magazine THE SOURCE and other member communication products, collaboration for marketing tools and best practices, management of key association messaging, development and execution of strategy for media and public relations, and overall member engagement on timely communications-related issues for APGA members.

APGA’s Environmental Subcommittee advances the Board-identified environmental priorities by monitoring and engaging in environmental matters impacting public gas systems.

APGA’s Damage Prevention Subcommittee advances the Board-identified pipeline safety priorities by identifying damage prevention best practices and developing tools to aid APGA members in implementing those best practices.

APGA’s Gas Supply Committee furthers Board-identified priorities, with guidance from the Association’s Policy Resolutions, and provides a forum for public utility members to discuss upstream and midstream market activities.

The committee works on membership renewals, member recruitment and retention, and assessment of membership satisfaction.

APGA's Legislative Committee advances the legislative advocacy priorities with guidance from the Association’s Policy Resolutions. The Subcommittee also develops priorities and initiatives as events require.  The Subcommittee communicates and advocates for these positions in the relevant legislative forums and ensures coordination with other APGA committees and similarly aligned industry groups.

APGA's Legal Committee is intended to enable discussions focused on legal issues impacting the public gas utility sector and energy industry, as well as APGA’s external legal engagements.

Oversee the nomination & selection of members to the APGA Board of Directors.

Recruit new members and retain existing members of the APGA National Sponsor program.

APGA’s Operations & Safety Committee advances the Board-identified operations & safety priorities by monitoring and engaging in operations, pipeline safety, and employee safety matters impacting public gas systems.

APGA's Regulatory Committee advances the regulatory advocacy priorities, with guidance from the Association’s Policy Resolutions.  The Subcommittee communicates and advocates these positions in the relevant regulatory forums and ensures, when appropriate, coordination with other APGA groups.

APGA's Security Subcommittee assists in raising awareness and developing best practices around cybersecurity and physical security for public gas systems, ensuring the reliable delivery of natural gas to customers. The committee, when appropriate, coordinates with other APGA groups, mostly the Legislative and Regulatory Subcommittees, as well as the Operations and Safety Committee.
