National Environmental Policy Act Implementing Procedures, 85 Fed. Reg. 25340 (May 1, 2020); Docket No. DOE–HQ–2020–0017

On June 1, APGA joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Consumer Energy Alliance, Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance, and LNG Allies- The US LNG Association in submitting comments weighing in on the Department of Energy’s (DOE's) proposed revisions to the agency’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) implementing procedures.

APGA, though the joint comments, supports DOE’s effort to update its NEPA implementing regulations and ensure a more efficient, predictable, and effective approach to environmental permitting of LNG imports and exports. In general, the comments are supportive of changes that allow for clarification of the NEPA review process and ensuring that the U.S. continues to attract infrastructure investments and more quickly realizes related environmental benefits.
