On October 11, APGA submitted comments to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. These were in response to a request for the public natural gas utility perspective on climate legislation. In its feedback, APGA thanked the Congressmen working on this effort for engaging all stakeholders. The APGA members’ work in being good stewards of their systems and the environment was detailed, as well as the role natural gas and public natural gas utilities play in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

In addition to the environmental benefits, the fact that natural gas is affordable and reliable was discussed thoroughly. The hope is the committee will take the APGA input and consider it as balanced energy legislation is developed. Read what APGA submitted. APGA staff will be following up if there is any further action or update on climate legislation.
