On August 8, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) held a public meeting of the Appliance Standards and Rulemaking Federal Advisory Committee (ASRAC) to discuss how this group can assist the Department’s Appliance and Equipment Standards Program, which may include forming subcommittees to support the efforts. Specifically, DOE is hoping to gather advice and recommendations on the development of standards and test procedures for residential appliances and commercial equipment through collaboration with the ASRAC.
Danny Manning, of Sevier County Utility District, represents APGA on this committee. Both he and APGA staff were in attendance to ensure public gas utility perspectives were interjected into the conversation. The appropriate APGA committees will be engaged on any follow ups from this meeting. Click here for information on this meeting and other ASRAC activities.
