At the end of March, the APGA Security and Integrity Foundation (SIF) will release the long-awaited upgrade to its Simple Handy Risk-based Integrity Management Plan (SHRIMP) program. Many APGA members use SHRIMP to create and update their Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) plans, so this update will be significant.

Among the major improvements are:

• Enhanced use of damage and locate ticket data for risk ranking;
• Easier process for identifying natural force damage categories and assessing risk;
• New threat assessment section for PermaLockTM tapping tee issues;
• Correction of Blasting subthreat problems;
• Improved explanation of risk ranking; and,
• Written plans that specifically identify actual and potential threats.

The new SHRIMP version also changes the written plan to include recent changes to DIMP inspection forms released by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

The SIF will be conducting a series of webinars during the week of March 25 to explain the changes to SHRIMP and how it will impact SHRIMP users the next time they log into SHRIMP to update their DIMP plans. Each webinar will begin at 2:00 PM EST. Separate webinars will be aimed at:
