Donnie Sharp, Senior Natural Gas Supply Coordinator for Huntsville Utilities, has been named as APGA’s representative on the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB). Alonzo Weaver, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Memphis, Light, Gas and Water, previously served as APGA’s NAESB representative. However, Alonzo has recently taken on the role of APGA’s Treasurer which is the reason he is transitioning from APGA’s NAESB Representative.

NAESB serves as an industry forum for the development and promotion of standards which intended to lead to a seamless marketplace for wholesale and retail natural gas and electricity. Specifically, NAESB proposes and adopts voluntary standards and model business practices designed to promote more competitive and efficient natural gas and electric service. APGA was heavily involved in NAESB several years ago during discussions as to whether the start time (currently 9:00 AM CST) of the Gas Day should be changed.
