APGA Members Meet in Chattanooga

From October 28 to November 1, APGA members met in Chattanooga, Tenn., for the APGA Fall Board and Committee Meetings and the APGA Operations Conference. The meetings began on October 28 with the recently established APGA Media and Public Outreach Committee (MPOC) holding its first in-person meeting. The MPOC was established for the purpose of, among other things, pro-actively conveying the benefits of natural gas direct use and other matters that impact the operation of public natural gas utilities such as pipeline safety, municipal and public gas system ownership, small operator concerns and gas supply. There was a reception on Sunday evening, which was held at the HomeServe call center. HomeServe, a company which APGA has endorsed, is an independent provider of home repair service solutions.

The day began on Monday with several committee meetings followed by a meeting of the APGA Board of Directors that afternoon. On Monday evening, there was a dinner in honor of John Erickson, formerly APGA’s Vice President for Operations & Safety. John retired in July but is still working with APGA in an Adviser Emeritus position. On Tuesday, there were several additional committee meetings, which ended by that morning as the Operations Conference began at 1:00 p.m. that day.

The next set of APGA Board and Committee meetings is scheduled for January 27-31, 2019 in Cape Coral, Fla. In conjunction with these meetings, APGA will be holding its Gas Supply Conference, Marketing & Sales Trends & Training Conference (MSTTC), and Policy & Technology Conference. Information on these conferences is available on the APGA website at www.apga.org/capecoral2019.
