DOE’s Regulatory Calendar

By Dan Lapato posted 08-09-2018 09:56 AM

Earlier this year, the Administration’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) published the first bi-annual regulatory calendar for 2018. The second calendar will be published this fall. The Department of Energy (DOE) had 58 rules listed; 79 percent or 48 of the rules listed come from the office Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). EERE is the office in charge of reviewing and establishing minimum energy efficiency standards for equipment.

Some of the rules we are following such as the residential furnaces, commercial water heaters and manufactured home energy efficiency construction standards have tentative “next step” dates set for sometime this fall. However, these dates should be considered target dates and often times experience multiple delays.

APGA will continue to follow this report to ensure our members are engaged in any rulemaking that may impact their ability to serve their customers.
