On June 20, Audrey Anderson, APGA Editorial and Marketing Director, attended the summer board meeting for the National Energy Foundation (NEF) in Washington, D.C. Bert Kalisch, APGA President and CEO, is on the NEF Board of Directors, and Audrey stood in for him for this meeting.

NEF is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to the development, dissemination and implementation of supplementary educational materials and programs. NEF resources for education relate primarily to energy, water, natural resources, science, math, technology, conservation, energy efficiency and the environment. NEF recognizes the importance and contribution of natural resources to our economy, to our national security, the environment and our quality of life. For over four decades, energy professionals and educators have depended on NEF for experience and expertise in energy literacy. Energy education in schools is an effective way to deliver important messages to students, families and communities on a local or national level. NEF programs help organizations meet energy safety requirements, reach significant measured savings and produce meaningful customer experiences.

During the productive meeting, NEF staff presented on the work accomplished by the organization such as new literacy programs and potential partnerships. APGA members have worked closely with NEF in the past to bring energy education programs to their local schools. NEF has also presented at many APGA conferences, contributed articles for THE SOURCE and hosted webinars. APGA is proud to participate in this important energy industry group.
