APGA Research Foundation

The APGA Research Foundation (RF) invests in developing new and improved products, processes, practices, and knowledge to increase the operational safety of natural gas distribution infrastructure and to increase the utilization of safe and efficient natural gas end-use technologies.

APGA Security and Integrity Foundation

The APGA Security and Integrity Foundation (SIF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, is dedicated to promoting the security, operational integrity and safety of natural gas distribution and utilization facilities. The SIF has tools such as the SHRIMP (Simple, Handy, Risk-based Integrity Management Plan) and Anti-Drug and Alcohol Plan Development Tool.

APGA GOAL (GAS OVERALL AWARENESS LEVEL) TOOL is your solution for measuring safety-awareness effectiveness as required by Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

APGA SOAR

APGA's System Operational Achievement Recognition (SOAR) program honors those public natural gas systems that have achieved excellence in the operation of their natural gas utility. Attaining the APGA SOAR shows board members, community leaders, service providers and customers the utility's commitment to operational excellence.

Mutual Aid Program

APGA has created the new Mutual Aid Program to allow utilities to provide and receive aid from natural gas system program participants from around the country in the event of a disaster or emergency situation – a critical component during a scenario requiring an urgent response.

Plastic Pipe Data Collection (PPDC)

Natural gas utilities have more than 525,000 miles of plastic mains and over 30 million plastic services. To understand the long-term performance of this investment, APGA and AGA developed the Plastic Pipe Data Collection (PPDC) Initiative to gather data on the performance of pipe. This program shares data in a confidential manner with representatives of industry and government.

There are many opportunities for all APGA members (system, associates, and agency members) to get involved from being involved in our committees, engaging in advocacy, and more! 

Conferences and Webinars

APGA holds four conferences a year, including an annual Operations Conference along with webinars that feature speakers and panels of experts on topics such as integrity management, regulatory compliance, and new technology. on operations-focused topics such as Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS).
