Profile

Mr. Bert Kalisch

Bio

Bert Kalisch is the President and Chief Executive Officer for the American Public Gas Association. APGA, formed in 1961, has over 700 members in 36 states and is the only nonprofit trade organization to represent America's publicly owned natural gas local distribution companies.

APGA represents the interests of its members before Congress, federal agencies and other energy-related stakeholders by developing regulatory and legislative policies that further the goals of its members.

Since assuming this role in 2004, Bert refocused APGA's resources on advocacy efforts in Congress and at the federal regulatory agencies, increased membership, enhanced communications and information exchange between and among members, relocated its office to Capitol Hill, and created two new foundations that provide greater value to all community-owned gas utilities. APGA membership now stands at over 700.

Bert also serves as the President and CEO for the APGA Research Foundation and the APGA Security and Integrity Foundation.

He also earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Institute for Organization Management (IOM) designations, the only two professional certifications for association management.
