Gary Gibson is Associate General Manager Economic Development and SpringNet for City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri. Gary is responsible for managing City Utilities’ overall economic development program, developer services and key accounts as well as oversight of SpringNet, City Utilities business to business broadband business. In addition he has responsibility for City Utilities advanced metering infrastructure project and GIS areas. He began his career at CU in 1991 as a design engineer. He subsequently held positions supervising the natural gas and water engineering area, Manager of Natural Gas Distribution and Director of Distribution before beginning his current responsibilities in 2014.
Gary received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1991. Gary formerly served as Chairman of the Missouri Association of Natural Gas Operators and currently serves on the Boards and Executive Committees of the American Public Gas Association and the Midwest Energy Association and Chairs the American Public Gas Association Research Foundation. Gary also currently serves as the Past-President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks.
