The Downstream Natural Gas (DNG) Information Sharing & Analysis Center (ISAC) serves natural gas utility (distribution) and pipeline (transmission) companies by facilitating communications between participants, the federal government, and other critical infrastructures. Specifically, the DNG-ISAC coordinates very closely with the Electric (E) ISAC and shares information back and forth between electric, combination (natural gas and electric), natural gas utilities and natural gas pipelines. The DNG-ISAC promptly disseminates threat information and indicators from government and other sources and provides analysis, coordination and summarization of related industry-affecting information.

The American Gas Association (AGA), Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) and Canadian Gas Association (CGA) joined together to create the DNG-ISAC. Unlike our counterparts in the electric utility industry, natural gas distribution is not required to meet regulations pertaining to cyber security. Therefore, the industry has developed several initiatives to assist natural gas utilities recognize threats and prevent cyber security attacks. One such tool is the DNG-ISAC.

All utility members at AGA, INGAA, and CGA have individual access to the information within the DNG-ISAC. However, we at APGA would like to make it easier for members to receive information. Therefore, Erin Kurilla will be distributing summaries of all applicable and publicly available alerts to the Operations and Safety Committee. APGA is covering the cost to participate in the DNG-ISAC through our existing budget.

If you would like to have individual access for your system, please let contact Erin. We have negotiated a few additional log-ns for APGA systems.
