The State of Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury has approved the 2018 APGA Annual Conference, which will be held July 22-25 in Portland, Ore., for six hours of Utility Commissioner Training Credits as required under Tennessee law. By way of background, the State of Tennessee recently passed legislation that requires utility board members to receive 12 hours of training with the first 12 months of their initial election/appointment (or re-election/reappointment) and 12 hours every three years thereafter. The subjects for training include board governance, financial oversight, policy-making responsibilities, and other topics reasonably related to a board member’s responsibilities.

This year’s Annual Conference will include Commissioner Robert Powelson of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and numerous other speakers addressing a wide range of topics from an economic outlook of the natural gas industry to leadership in crisis situations. Information on the Annual Conference is available at www.apga.org/portland.
