As our industry continues to grapple with the ideologically-driven electrification movement, we have been focused on how to better tell the story of natural gas and why it is important to the community. APGA will host a free webinar for APGA members discussing the American Gas Association’s (AGA) Implications of Policy-Driven Residential Electrification study next Tuesday, August 14th at 3:00pm EST. As our industry continues to grapple with the ideologically-driven electrification movement, we have been focused on how to better tell the story of natural gas and why it is important to the community. AGA’s report looks at the potential impacts of “deep decarbonization” policies. Rick Murphy, Managing Director of AGA’s Sustainable Growth Committee, will discuss the report’s findings regarding:

• The environmental impacts of residential electrification;
• The impacts of electrification on natural gas consumers;
• The impacts on the power sector and on electric transmission; and,
• The cost of electrification and how it compares to other possible policy options.

This webinar is the first in a series of webinars and discussions APGA will be holding this fall. The series will explore the electrification movement, discuss how it will impact the direct use of natural gas, and what APGA’s response should be to this policy movement.  If you have questions on this webinar or APGA’s electrification webinar series, please contact Dan Lapato at dlapato@apga.org or (202) 464-2742.
